Return from Egypt: Dr. Dana Mustafa

We are honored that Dr. Dana Mustafa will join us on GazaBeach on June 24 to recite a powerful poem in both Arabic and English.

As a Palestinian-Dutch scientist, writer, and public health expert, Dana has been using her voice to speak out against the genocide in Gaza since October 2023. With clarity, compassion, and tenacity. She recently traveled to Egypt to participate in the international protest march towards Rafah. However, the Egyptian authorities did not let her into the country. Like many other participants, she was immediately sent back at the airport. A telling incident that painfully exposes the global blockade of Gaza.

With a poem written by a Palestinian poet, Dana brings the reality of Gaza closer. Poetry as a bridge. As an indictment. As a refusal to remain silent.
