Taptoe: trumpet signal for the DIE-IN

Updated: Jun 24

At 8 pm a trumpet signal (the clarion call) will resound over Gaza Beach: all participants will then fall onto the sandy ground as if dead. While we lie prostrate, we commemorate the tens of thousands of victims of the war violence in Gaza. We can mourn, pray or meditate. Only when the agreed signal makes us stand up again, will this Die-In end.

We are grateful that Mark Passenier has agreed to play the signal for us. Mark, 63 years old, was born in Rotterdam. After an active career in the Royal Navy and police, he only makes music as a trumpeter in the Dutch Police Orchestra in the last years of his career and regularly joins as a trumpeter in one of the projects of the symphony orchestra Bellitoni.
