Trump's plans for Gaza Beach

On 4 February 2025 President Trump presented his plans for the future of Gaza: the USA will

• establish its sovereignty over the Gaza strip (with Netanyahu's agreement),

• displace the 2.3 million native inhabitants to other (unnamed) Arab countries, and

• build a luxury resort under the Trump brand.

His announcement was followed by a distasteful video apparently generated by AI and posted on his 'truthsocial' account, where Trump is dancing with Arab girls and there are gold statues of him everywhere, as well as a gigantic Trump tower.

The utter disrespect of Palestinians shown in the video is revolting.

Although the plan was turned down by all countries except Israel, it remains the policy of the US administration. A more detailed Egyptian proposal to rebuild Gaza, focused on the Palestinian population, was presented early March. It has little chance of succeeding as potential donors fear that whatever is rebuilt will be destroyed again by Israel, like previous reconstruction efforts (largely funded by the EU).

It is estimated that it will take more than 20 years just to clear all the rubble and ammunition from Gaza. Not only the buildings, but the farms, water supply, transport and sanitation infrastructure (and more) has been destroyed in the current violence. See wikipedia for more.
